Who Should Not Take Acamprosate?

You should not take acamprosate if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Campral, acamprosate calcium, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have severe liver disease (your healthcare provider will classify the severity of your liver disease based on certain blood tests).
