AndroGel Drug Interactions

Insulin
AndroGel can decrease blood sugar levels. Therefore, if you take insulin, you should monitor your blood sugar levels more closely when starting or stopping AndroGel (or even when adjusting your dose). You may need to adjust your insulin dose. Check with your healthcare provider for more specific instructions for your particular situation.

Corticosteroids
Combining AndroGel with a corticosteroid can increase the risk of fluid retention, which can be dangerous in some situations. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

Cyclosporine
AndroGel may increase the risk of liver damage due to cyclosporine and may also increase the level of cyclosporine in your blood. In general, it is best to avoid taking these medications together. Do not combine them without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.

Warfarin
AndroGel may increase the risk of dangerous bleeding due to warfarin. If you take these medications together, you may need to be monitored more closely, especially when starting or stopping AndroGel (or even when adjusting your AndroGel dosage).
