AndroGel Drug Interactions

If certain medications, such as insulin or corticosteroids, are taken with AndroGel, drug interactions may occur. Some of these interactions can increase your risk of potentially dangerous side effects, such as low blood sugar levels, fluid retention, dangerous bleeding, or liver damage. To avoid complications, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about any possible drug interaction that may apply to you.

AndroGel Drug Interactions: An Overview

AndroGel® (testosterone gel) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with AndroGel include:
 
  • Insulin
  • Corticosteroids, including but not limited to:
 
    • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
    • Cortisone
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
    • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
    • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
    • Prednisolone (Ovapred®, Pediapred®)
    • Prednisone
    • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®, Aristospan®)
