Men Home > Avanafil Side Effects
Common Side EffectsAvanafil has been studied extensively in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occurred in a group of people given avanafil were documented and compared to reactions that occurred in a similar group of people given a placebo (a "sugar pill" that does not contain any active ingredients). As a result, it was possible to see what side effects occurred, how often they appeared, and how they compared to the placebo.
In clinical studies, the most common avanafil side effects included:
- Headache -- in up to 12.1 percent of people
- Flushing (a sudden warmth and redness of the face, neck, or upper chest) -- up to 10.1 percent
- Symptoms of the common cold, such as a runny or stuffy nose -- up to 5.1 percent
- Back pain -- up to 3.2 percent.
Other common side effects, occurring 1 percent to 2 percent of people, included:
- An upper respiratory tract infection
- Flu-like symptoms
- High blood pressure
- Heartburn or indigestion
- A rash
- Joint pain.
Final ThoughtsYou may experience some or none of the side effects listed in this article. Unfortunately, there is no way for your healthcare provider to know beforehand if you will have problems with a medicine that you have never tried.
Therefore, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you develop any side effects while taking avanafil or if something "just does not seem right." While it may not be related to the medication, your healthcare provider will be able to diagnose and treat the problem.
