Before taking doxazosin XL, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medications you are taking. Some medications, such as alpha blockers, blood pressure medications, and certain antibiotics, can cause negative drug interactions when taken with doxazosin XL. These reactions can alter the amount of the medications in your blood, possibly causing side effects or lowering your blood pressure to unsafe levels.
