Men Home > Drug Interactions With Epimedium

A number of medications could cause Epimedium drug interactions, including high blood pressure medicines and anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications ("blood thinners"). Taking these drugs with the herbal supplement can increase your risk of dangerously low blood pressure or bleeding (including dangerous internal bleeding). To help prevent drug interactions, make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking.

An Introduction to Epimedium Interactions

Even though it is a natural product, Epimedium (horny goat weed) can potentially interact with certain medications. In particular, it is thought that the following medications may interact with Epimedium:

      • Alteplase (Activase®)
      • Reteplase (Retavase®)
      • Streptokinase (Streptase®)
      • Tenecteplase (TNKase®)
