Men Home > Info on Peyronie's Disease

Peyronie's disease is characterized by a plaque (hard lump) that forms on the penis, which can cause reduced flexibility and pain. The plaque develops on the upper or lower side of the penis in the layers containing erectile tissue. Over time, the localized inflammation can develop into a hardened scar, making sexual intercourse difficult. Although men of any age can develop it, Peyronie's disease occurs mostly in middle-aged men.
