Naftin® (naftifine) is a medicine prescribed to treat fungal infections. Specifically, it is approved to relieve symptoms caused by jock itch, ringworm, and athlete's foot. But can Naftin be used for treating nail fungus as well?
Although this is an unapproved ("off-label") use of the drug, Naftin can be prescribed to treat either fingernail or toenail fungus. This medicine comes as a cream or gel, and is applied once or twice daily.
(Click Naftin Uses for a more in-depth look at how Naftin can be used for treating nail fungus. This article also describes how this medicine works and whether it is safe for use in children.)
