Five Hygiene Tips Every Man Should Follow

Tip 5: Don't Be a Hairy Beast

Maybe you are a clean-shaven sort of man. Or maybe you're a fan of the naturally hairy state of man. Either way, you do have some responsibility to keep your hair under control.

Short or long, make sure your hair gets trimmed every once in a while. It helps maintain a style (especially a shorter style) and helps keep hair healthy (especially with longer styles that are prone to damage and split ends).

If you like to have a beard or mustache, make sure to keep it reasonably trimmed. Also, trim up those rogue eyebrow, nose, and ear hairs (especially as you get older).

You may also need to trim up your chest, shoulder, neck, and back hair if it's peeking out of your shirts. Nobody wants to see that.

Last but not certainly not least, keep your south-of-the-border hairs trimmed, especially if you wear shorts or swimming trunks. No, you don't need to get waxed, shaved, or trim any fancy designs, but do trim up the extra-long hairs. Your partner will appreciate the effort, too.

Want to go the extra mile? Consider buying special hair removal tools (clippers, etc.) for handling your body hair.

Parting Thoughts

We know you're a busy guy. But no matter how busy (or how rugged) you are, it's your duty to others to keep yourself clean and reasonably groomed. This is especially true if you have a partner in your life or if you'd like to have a partner in your life.

Taking care of the basics doesn't have to take too much time or a cabinet full of special products. But it does take a bit of time (and a bit of money). We think it's definitely a good investment.
