Robaxin Medication Information

Robaxin^® (methocarbamol) is a medication used to treat muscle spasms. Available by prescription, this muscle relaxant is meant for the relief of short-term pain caused by "musculoskeletal conditions," such as those caused by an injury. The tablets are generally taken three or four times a day; an injectable version of Robaxin is also available. Possible side effects include confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea.

 

Before starting treatment with Robaxin, your healthcare provider will need information on your current medications and any other medical conditions you may have. Also, tell your healthcare provider if you have any allergies (including to food, dyes, or preservatives) or a history of kidney disease or seizures. Your healthcare provider will recommend a dosage for you based on a number of factors, including the severity of your condition, how you respond to Robaxin, and other drugs you are taking.
