What Is Naftin?

Naftin® (naftifine) may be prescribed for the treatment of certain fungal infections. But what is Naftin and how does it work?
 
Naftin comes in the form of a cream or a gel. It is approved for the treatment of certain fungal infections, including jock itch, ringworm, and athlete's foot. A thin layer of the medicine is applied once or twice a day, depending on which product is being used.
 
This prescription medicine works to kill fungus by preventing the cells of the fungus from forming correctly. Some of the common side effects of Naftin include redness, dryness, and stinging.
