Rogaine Dosage

Although there are two available strengths of Rogaine, the dosage amount applied to the scalp is the same for everyone. The normal dosage is 1 mL of the liquid or half a capful of the foam applied to the hair-loss area twice daily, in the morning and evening. Women should only use the Rogaine 2% product, while men can use either the 2% or 5% product.

An Introduction to Dosing With Rogaine

There is only one standard recommended Rogaine® (minoxidil) dosage, although there are two different strengths available -- one for men only and one for men or women. As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless a healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

(This article applies only to minoxidil formulations that are applied to the scalp. An oral form of minoxidil is available by prescription and is used to treat severe hypertension. Oral minoxidil should not be used to treat hair loss, as it can cause serious side effects. Click Loniten for more information.)
