Testred Overdose

An overdose of Testred (methyltestosterone capsules) is likely to cause any of the usual side effects of the medicine, but perhaps more severely. Some of these effects may include nausea, vomiting, and water retention. Treatment options will probably involve providing supportive care to treat the symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose.

Can You Take Too Much Testred?

Testred® (methyltestosterone capsules) is a prescription hormone replacement medication. It contains methyltestosterone. As with any medication, it is possible to take too much Testred.
The specific effects of an overdose can vary, depending on a number of factors, including the Testred dosage and whether it was a single, one-time overdose or a chronically high dose.

Overdose Effects

An overdose of this drug is likely to cause any of the usual Testred side effects, but perhaps more severely. These reactions are most likely to occur when too high of a dosage is taken on a long-term basis. This is one of the reasons why it is important for your healthcare provider to adjust your dosage based on your testosterone levels, rather than just based on your symptoms.
There has been one report of a serious effect (a stroke) possibly due to a massive overdose of an injectable form of testosterone. It seems possible that similar problems could occur with a large overdose of Testred, although no such problems have been reported.
Some of the short-term problems may include:
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Water retention, which would result in swelling in the legs and feet.

Treatment Options for a Testred Overdose

Treatment involves supportive care, which consists of treating symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose. You may be advised to stop taking Testred, at least temporarily.
It is important that you seek medical attention immediately if you believe that you or someone else may have taken a Testred overdose.
