Drug Interactions With Vardenafil

Nitrates
If you are taking nitrates, you should not use vardenafil. This includes using recreational drugs called "poppers," which can contain amyl nitrate or butyl nitrate. Combining nitrates and vardenafil can cause dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension).

Other Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors (PDE5 Inhibitors)
Vardenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor and should not be combined with other such medications, even if they are not used to treat erectile dysfunction.

Protease Inhibitors
Protease inhibitors can increase the level of vardenafil in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. You may need a lower vardenafil dosage. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking vardenafil with a protease inhibitor.
