Rare Side Effects of Vardenafil
During clinical studies, there were a number of other side effects that occurred in fewer than 2 percent of people who were taking
vardenafil. It is difficult to tell whether these side effects are caused by vardenafil or something else.
Some of these possible side effects include but are not limited to:
In rare cases, people taking medicine (such as vardenafil) for
erectile dysfunction have also experienced serious problems that occur in the heart, brain, or blood vessels. These problems include:
Because most of these people had heart or blood vessel (cardiovascular) risk factors, and because the side effects occurred during or shortly after sexual activity, it is difficult to tell the origin of these side effects. Researchers don't know if the problems were related to vardenafil, the person's existing risk factors, sexual activity, or a combination of these factors.
(Click Precautions and Warnings for Vardenafil for more information.)
There have also been rare cases of a condition called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) associated with the use of vardenafil and other PDE5 inhibitors. This condition can lead to sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes
(see Levitra and Blindness).
