VigRX Plus and Breastfeeding

Although no studies have been conducted on breastfeeding and VigRX Plus, there are several active ingredients in the supplement that theoretically could affect hormones or increase the risk of bleeding, which could cause problems in a nursing infant. Before using VigRX Plus, breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider.

Can I Take VigRX Plus While Breastfeeding?

VigRX Plus™ is an herbal supplement marketed as a "male enhancement" product. It contains several different active ingredients. VigRX Plus is not intended for use in women, including women who are breastfeeding.

It is not known if many of the active ingredients in VigRX Plus are either safe or unsafe for women who are breastfeeding. No studies have evaluated the safety of this product (or most of the active ingredients) for use during breastfeeding. Theoretically, several of the active ingredients in VigRX Plus may affect certain hormones or increase the risk of bleeding, both of which could cause serious problems in a nursing infant. Therefore, VigRX Plus should not be considered safe for use in women who are breastfeeding.

Discussing Breastfeeding and VigRX Plus With Your Healthcare Provider

You should talk with your healthcare provider about any medications or supplements you are considering taking while breastfeeding. Each woman's situation is different, and you and your healthcare provider understand your situation best. After considering what you want and expect, as well as your current health situation, the two of you can make a shared decision about which medications and supplements are appropriate for you.
