VigRX Plus Safety

Specific VigRX Plus Safety Warnings and Precautions

Some of the warnings and precautions to be aware of concerning the safety of VigRX Plus include the following:
  • Dietary supplements are not regulated closely by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and can be marketed without any evidence that they are either safe or effective. Do not assume that VigRX Plus is safe or effective just because it is marketed in the United States.
  • Tribulus terrestris (one of the active ingredients in VigRX Plus) could, theoretically, increase the risk of prostate cancer or might make it worse. It might also worsen an enlarged prostate.
  • Some of the active ingredients in VigRX Plus may, theoretically, decrease the ability of blood platelets to stick together, decreasing the ability to form blood clots. This can be especially dangerous for people with a bleeding disorder. It could also be dangerous during a surgery or if you take medications that "thin" the blood.
  • Some of the active ingredients in VigRX Plus may affect blood sugar control in people with diabetes. If you have diabetes, you may need to monitor your blood sugar levels more often, especially when starting or stopping this supplement.
  • Ginseng (one of the components of VigRX Plus) may have effects on the heart rhythm and blood pressure. It is not known if this supplement is safe for people with heart problems.
  • There have been reports that ginseng may cause insomnia and agitation in people with schizophrenia. In general, ginseng (and therefore VigRX Plus) should be avoided by people with this condition.
  • Ginseng may stimulate the immune system, which could worsen autoimmune diseases or increase the risk of organ transplant rejection. If you have an autoimmune disorder, or if you have had an organ transplant, check with your healthcare provider before taking VigRX Plus.
  • VigRX Plus is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women (see VigRX Plus and Pregnancy and VigRX Plus and Breastfeeding).
  • VigRX Plus can interact with a number of different medications (see VigRX Plus Drug Interactions).
